Waxing can be more painful for men as their hair is thicker. Individual pain thresholds vary from each client and also depends on the area being waxed. At Nude, our premium waxes and expert therapists ensure an efficient, painless and discreet experience.
TIP: Regular waxing slows hair regrowth so hairs become softer, thinner and more sparse, making it less painful.
Avoiding alcohol 24 hours before a treatment is recommended as alcohol increases blood flow and sensitivity to the skin. If you have a low pain threshold, you may take a painkiller 1 hour prior to your appointment.
At this time, Nude only employs female therapists who are well-trained and experienced in male waxing treatments and conduct themselves in a highly professional manner.
The more you shave, the coarser and thicker hair becomes increasing the growth rate. Waxing has the reverse effect, allowing the hair to become thinner and softer over time. The longer you wax, the less you’ll have to worry about unwanted hair.

Most waxing treatments take 15 – 60 minutes depending on the area being treated. On average, a male Brazilian wax may take about 40 minutes, while a full back or chest wax take up to 30 minutes.
SUITABILITY
If the area has any rashes, open wounds, severe breakouts or sunburn, avoid waxing until your skin heals. It’s important to inform your therapist if you are diabetic or using any prescription-strength acne medication as they can thin the skin, making it highly sensitive and easier to break.
PREPARATION

We recommend at least ¼ inch (5mm) of hair growth before booking a wax.
The average timeline falls between 3 – 7 weeks, depending on the frequency of your visits and your hair re-growth rate. Typically, most of our male customers require a monthly visit.
Getting intimate is not a problem. However, if you have sensitive skin, it may be best to skip sex for a day or two as the friction could aggravate the area.
It is best to avoid swimming and the gym for at least 24 hours as your pores are susceptible to infection.
It is best to avoid any heated activities that will further open pores and cause perspiration immediately after a wax. Within a week after your treatment, it is highly advised to exfoliate 2 – 3 times a week to avoid ingrown hairs.
